Week 2, Day 4: A most singular image

Today we practiced changing nouns from the singular to plural.  Students have a small, personal whiteboard that they can write on and then hold up for me.  This is a fun and effective way to see that everyone is on the right track.

Anyway, we start off with the easy ones.  Student.  Students!  Great job!  Book.  Books!  Yeah!  Okay, a little harder now.  Church.  Churches!  Wish. Wishes!  Boy.  Boys!  Baby.  Babys.  Oops.  Rewind and teach.  Wife. Wifes.  Oops.  Rewind.  Box. Boxes! Dictionary.  Dictionarys.  No, no, let's review.  Party.  Parties!  Great.  Doing better. Let's do something easy.  Pen.  Pennis.   (...with a gleam in his eye.  This guy's been here for awhile.)

Ummmmmm...... let's just move on to the next word.

Week 2, Day 3: Names are hard!

Male Student:  Teacher.  My name very difficult.  Give me new name.
Me:  Your name isn't difficult.
Student: Yes, teacher. Very difficult for Americans.  You give me name.
Me:  Hmmmm.
Student:  I want cute man name.

Week 2, Day 2: Speechless ...almost

Me:  You're 10 minutes late for class!
Male student:  You're very beautiful today, teacher.

He can't say even the most basic sentence save this one... to great effect, of course.

Am I really so transparent that they've already figured out how to win me over?!  I already love Level 1.
